Cooperatives and MSME Development Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya has signed new performance contracts with Principal Secretaries in his ministry, saying the move will help improve service delivery and ensure government programmes truly benefit ordinary Kenyans.
In a statement shared on his X account, Oparanya said he presided over the Level Two cascading and signing of the 2025/2026 financial year performance contracts. He staed that the exercise shows the ministry’s commitment to accountability, teamwork and delivering results to the country.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim, Principal Secretary for the State Department for National Government Coordination in the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary
According to the CS, the ministry’s performance score improved from 4.1 to 3.4, making it the most improved ministry. He said the progress reflects efforts made to strengthen systems and improve services to commom citizen.
He added that performance contracting remains an important tool for tracking progress and making sure government programmes support businesses, grow the cooperative movement and improve livelihoods across the country.
Oparanya signed the contracts with Mr Patrick Kilemi, Principal Secretary for Cooperatives, and Ms Susan Auma Mang’eni, Principal Secretary for MSME Development, saying the team is now focused on sustaining the momentum and delivering even better results for Kenyans.
