The National Youth Service (NYS) has strongly refuted allegations that its vehicles were used to transport individuals involved in criminal activities during the recent Saba Saba protests in Naivasha.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the NYS described the reports as “baseless and malicious,” maintaining that none of its vehicles were deployed to Naivasha for either official or unofficial purposes during the period in question.
“No NYS vehicle was deployed to Naivasha during the stated period for any unrelated official duties,” the agency clarified.
The institution accused those spreading the claims of seeking to tarnish its reputation and emphasized that it operates as a disciplined and apolitical body committed to national development.
“These allegations… seek to unjustly tarnish the reputation of the NYS, an institution committed to discipline, patriotism, and national development,” the statement read.
NYS further stated that all its personnel and assets function under strict command structures, with every movement documented and traceable.
“The NYS remains apolitical and has never been involved in partisan or unlawful activities,” the statement continued, adding that any misuse of its resources is strictly prohibited.
