Newsline Media and Training Agency has announced new industrial attachment opportunities for students pursuing Media, Public Relations (PR), and Information Technology (IT) courses as part of its commitment to nurturing industry-ready professionals.

The opportunities come following the agency’s recent expansion in Thika, which is expected to increase its capacity to train and mentor students seeking practical workplace experience.

Speaking during an interview, Newsline Media Founder and Managing Director, Faith Mukundi, noted that while industrial attachment remains a mandatory requirement for graduation, many students complete their studies without acquiring the practical skills, exposure, and professional networks necessary to succeed in today’s competitive job market.

“We noted that most students pursuing Media, IT, and PR courses undertake attachment because it is a requirement for graduation. However, the bigger question is what happens after graduation if they lack the right skills, networks, and exposure?” she said.

Mukundi explained that Newsline Media’s attachment programme focuses on hands-on training, mentorship, professional networking, and real-world assignments designed to prepare students for the demands of the corporate environment.

She added that the agency’s practical approach has already produced positive results, with seven students securing employment during the first quarter of 2026 after undergoing training through the programme.

“More than 150 students have benefited from our programmes, and several universities continue to refer students to us because of the impact our training model has had on graduates,” she said.

According to Mukundi, the agency has grown from humble beginnings, operating with a single camera and microphone, into a thriving training centre that continues to empower students from diverse backgrounds.

She further called upon media houses and corporate institutions hosting attachés to prioritize mentorship and skills transfer.

“Today they are students, but tomorrow they could become your colleagues, employers, or business partners. The knowledge and guidance you provide today can shape their future and the future of the industry,” she said.

The attachment opportunities are open to students pursuing Media, Journalism, Communication, Public Relations, Information Technology, Computer Science, and related disciplines.
