Popular Nairobi biker Gustavo Rides died following a tragic motorcycle crash along the Northern Bypass on Sunday, March 15.
Earlier that morning, the thrill-seeking rider had shared a cheerful message on social media, unaware that it would become his final post hours before the fatal accident that shocked the biking community.
A fellow rider and friend, Dennis Bosire, shared an emotional tribute online after learning about the crash. He recalled seeing Gustavo’s message, “Alive and kicking,” earlier in the day. At first, Bosire did not realise the accident being discussed on biking forums involved his friend, since Sunday rides often attract many bikers and occasional accidents. As more updates appeared online, it became clear that Gustavo was the victim.
According to Bosire, Gustavo had been riding with his wife when the crash occurred on the Northern Bypass. She initially survived and fought for her life before later succumbing to her injuries. The news has deeply shaken Kenya’s tight-knit superbike community, where Gustavo was widely known for his friendly nature and encouragement to fellow riders. Bosire said the two had previously met during the 2025 Sleek Superbike Series Championship, where they bonded over their shared passion for motorcycles and racing.
