Media personality Mwende Macharia has called it quits at the Standard Group owned Radio Maisha after 14 years of service.
In an announcement on her socials on Saturday, August 17, the babbly presenter dubbed the Queen of the Airwaves said her departure is effective immediately.
In her post, she extended her gratitude to the Mombasa Road-based media house’s management for the opportunity it gave her to grow her career and her brand.
She also appreciated her fans all over the country and beyond for supporting her throughout her 14-year stint.
Mwende further hinted that she was heading to another radio station to continue with her hosting talent.
“With that said, I cannot wait to share with you my next home so that I can continue doing what I do best, I am beyond thrilled already. Team Queen, let us get informed, let us get into the rhythm, mkoko ndio umealika maua. I wish my colleagues at Radio Maisha all the best. Thank you and God bless you,” said Mwende.Already, speculations are rife that the beloved Fourth Estate fellow may be heading to Cape Media owned Radio 47 which has been poaching top talents in recent times.
It is also worth noting that Mwende’s exit from Standard Group comes at a time when the firm announced a restructuring that occasioned the firing of over 300 employees, and it is not clear if the axe fell on her.
