Kenyan podcaster and creative Mwafreeka has revealed that his friendship with comedian Rapcha The Sayantist came to an end following disagreements over preparations for Rapcha’s stand-up show, Raw and Unkut.

Speaking candidly, Mwafreeka explained that he had strongly encouraged Rapcha to rehearse intensively for the one-hour stand-up special, suggesting at least two weeks of focused preparation. According to Mwafreeka, the push came from a place of belief in Rapcha’s talent and a desire to see him elevate his craft on a bigger stage.

However, things took a turn when Rapcha said he could not commit to rehearsals as expected. Mwafreeka admits that the situation frustrated him, leading to comments that Rapcha interpreted as disrespectful. In his recollection, Mwafreeka warned that failing to rehearse could become a long-term problem for Rapcha’s career, a statement that ultimately strained their relationship.

“I was pushing Rapcha because I believed in him,” Mwafreeka shared, noting that while his intentions were meant to motivate, the delivery may have been too harsh. Rapcha, on the other hand, reportedly took the comments personally, feeling undermined rather than supported.

The disagreement eventually led to the end of their friendship, highlighting the often delicate balance between constructive criticism and personal boundaries in creative collaborations. While both are respected figures in Kenya’s comedy and content creation space, the situation underscores how differing work styles and expectations can fracture even close relationships.

Despite the fallout, Raw and Unkut went on to generate conversation within the comedy scene, with fans praising Rapcha’s boldness and growth. Mwafreeka’s revelation has since sparked online debate, with audiences divided between applauding tough love and advocating for more empathetic mentorship.
