Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has sent his deepest condolences to the family, friends, and the Shia Ismaili Muslim community following the passing of His Highness Prince Karim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan IV in Lisbon, Portugal, at the age of 88.
In a heartfelt message, Mudavadi described the Aga Khan as a visionary leader whose contributions to Kenya’s development through the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) left a lasting impact.
“As the founder and Chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network and the 49th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, he was a visionary leader whose partnership with Kenya greatly shaped our development journey. His absence will be deeply felt,” Mudavadi stated.
The Aga Khan played a pivotal role in education, healthcare, and economic development in Kenya, with institutions such as Aga Khan University, Aga Khan Hospitals, and Nation Media Group standing as part of his enduring legacy.
Mudavadi expressed his sympathies to the bereaved family, urging them to find strength and comfort during this difficult time.
