Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport Kipchumba Murkomen led senior National Police Service (NPS) officials in paying their respects to Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, following the passing of his father, Weston Kirocho Kanja.
Murkomen was accompanied by Deputy Inspector General of Kenya Police Eliud Lagat, Deputy Inspector General of Administration Police Gilbert Masengeli, and the Director of Criminal Investigations Mohammed Amin, along with other top-ranking officers.
The delegation visited the IG and his family to offer condolences and show solidarity during the time of mourning.
“The entire National Police Service fraternity joins in mourning a respected patriarch whose life was defined by humility, wisdom, and dedication to family and community,” said Murkomen. “We recognise that Kirocho’s legacy lives on through the values he instilled in his family and his contributions to society.”
He added: “As a Service, we stand in solidarity with the Inspector General and his family, offering our prayers and unwavering support. May Almighty God grant them strength, peace, and comfort during this difficult time. May the soul of the late Kirocho Kanja rest in eternal peace.”
