Ryan Injendi, son of the late Malava MP Moses Malulu Injendi, has accused allies of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi of meddling in the just-concluded UDA nominations, which saw him lose the party ticket for the upcoming Malava by-election.

Speaking on Sunday in Lugusi, Kakamega County, Ryan alleged that individuals from Mudavadi’s office influenced the process in favour of David Ndakwa, who secured the ticket with 8,756 votes against his 6,312.

“I was with the Prime Cabinet Secretary and we wanted to agree on who would get the ticket, but it was decided that we go for nominations. I did not see the President’s hand in anything. I also did not see the hand of his aide Farouk Kibet or any founding members of UDA trying to help someone,” Ryan said.

Despite the claims, Ryan conceded defeat and pledged his continued support for President William Ruto and his administration.

The young aspirant expressed disappointment at Mudavadi, citing the political history between the Prime CS and his late father.

“My father stood with Mudavadi when many others abandoned him. It is painful to see him turn against me now,” he remarked.
