Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife Rebecca Miano has praised the bilateral agreements signed between William Ruto and Kazakhstan leaders in Astana as a huge step for Kenya’s tourism sector and the economic transformation agenda.

In a social media post issued after President Ruto’s visit to Kazakhstan, Miano acknowledged the signing of the agreements as a commitment of the government to making Kenya a leading global tourism and investment destination.

She said the strategic partnership between Kenya and Kazakhstan would open new vibrant travel markets and attract more investments that will lead to creation of employment opportunities within the tourism industry.

Tourism CS explained that the partnership would be in line with the government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda through expansion of Kenya’s international partnerships and enhancing cultural and economic exchanges between the two nations.

Miano stated that the Ministry of Tourism is still dedicated to converting the progressive cooperation into real tourism arrivals, increased investor confidence, and strengthened people-to-people relations.

The agreements will also deepen bilateral relations, facilitate the promotion of tourism, and create new opportunities for trade and cultural cooperation between Kenya and Kazakhstan.
