Mercy Masai, the Communications Director of the Kenya Judo Federation (KJF), has been accused of scheming to remove a player from the national team in order to secure her place on a recent trip to Europe.
The controversy arose after the city slay queen posted photos from her trip to Europe on her X account, along with insults directed at those who questioned her right to travel with the Kenyan team to Georgia for the Grand Slam 2025.
Masai swiftly dismissed the accusations, attributing them to jealousy, and reiterated that her position within the federation was legitimate, having been obtained through an electoral process.
In response, the Kenya Judo Federation issued an official statement supporting Masai.

“As the Kenya Judo Federation, we acknowledge and appreciate Mercy Masai for her commitment as Communications Director. Her efforts have played a key role in bringing judo into the spotlight,” the federation said on X.
The federation also emphasized the importance of her role in the development and promotion of the sport.
