Media personality MC Jimmie Kajim has parted ways with Gukena FM, a Radio Africa Group-owned station that broadcasts in the Gikuyu language.

Kajim, who co-hosted the breakfast show alongside Njoki wa Mburu, joined the station in June 2017 at just 22 years old, making him the youngest ever co-host of a breakfast show at the time.

Reflecting on his journey, Kajim credited Bishop Ben, then a presenter at Kameme FM and Kiengei, for introducing him to the media industry.

“I still remember those evenings we’d go together to Kameme FM during the Mawoshimeni Show with Gatonye wa Mbugua. I’ll never forget the day Bishop Ben asked Evans Wanyoike to host me on air. That moment marked the beginning of my radio journey,” Kajim recalled.

He later created Centro Comedy, a Kikuyu stand-up comedy show that he co-hosted with Njomo wa Nyathira on Inooro TV.

Through Njogu wa Njoroge, Kajim met Tonny Ngige, then Head of Radio at Gukena FM, who brought him on board to co-host the morning show, first with Njogu, and later with Njoki wa Mburu, until his recent exit.

“I’ll forever be grateful to CEO Patrick Quarcoo, who believed in me and trusted me with one of the biggest opportunities of my life” he added.

He has not yet disclosed his next career move.
