The Linda Mwananchi Movement has taken another step towards formal registration after its leaders met the Registrar of Political Parties on Tuesday.

The meeting was held at the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties, John Lorionokou, to discuss the approval of the movement’s name reservation.

Among those present were Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Suba South MP Caroli Omondi, Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi and former Jubilee party’s deputy organising secretary Pauline Njoroge.

The leaders said the meeting was part of the legal process of securing approval for the Linda Mwananchi Movement before it can proceed with registration.

Pauline Njoroge said the movement remains committed to protecting Kenya’s democratic space.

“This morning, the leadership of Linda Mwananchi held a meeting with the Registrar of Political Parties to discuss the approval of the Linda Mwananchi Movement name reservation,” she said.

“Our hard earned multi party democracy must be allowed to thrive.”

The meeting comes as the movement continues efforts to formalise its political activities amid growing public interest in its agenda and leadership.
