American rapper Lil Durk Derrick Banks, popularly known as Lil Durk has been acquitted of all five charges in his federal murder-for-hire trial in Los Angeles over the 2022 shooting death of Saviaya’s Robinson.
The three-day jury, and the panel cleared him of conspiracy, stalking and murder, with the rapper found not guilty of all charges on September 11, the jury determining that the 33-year-old was not responsible for the fatal shooting.
Prosecutors accused Durk of being “consumed with revenge” over the death of his friend King Von, who was fatally shot in Atlanta in 2020 following a fight with associates of rapper Quando Rondo real name Tyquian Bowman.
Durk faced five serious federal counts that is conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, use of facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, conspiracy to commit stalking, stalking using a dangerous weapon and stalking resulting in death.
Banks’ co-defendants; Deandre Dontrell Wilson and David Brian Lindsey, were convicted of stalking and conspiracy to commit stalking charges but acquitted for other counts.
For now, he remains in custody ahead of a second trial for several federal counts of racketeering murder and firearms charges next month. If convicted on all counts, Banks could face a life sentence in federal prison.
