The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has announced that Lake Nakuru National Park will not be part of its free entry programme set for Saturday, September 27, 2025.
In a statement on Friday, KWS said only visitors who bought prepaid tickets through the eCitizen platform will be allowed into the park, and entry will be restricted to Nderit Gate between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The park’s Main Gate near the flamingo area and the Lanet Gate will stay closed for the day.
While Lake Nakuru has been excluded, KWS confirmed that all other national parks, reserves, and sanctuaries across the country will remain open free of charge for Kenyan citizens tomorrow.
The agency also urged visitors to follow park rules and regulations to ensure safety and protect wildlife during the exercise.
