The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has cautioned prospective students against fraudulent admission information circulating online, warning that scammers are attempting to exploit applicants ahead of the March 2026 intake.

In a statement issued on Monday, March 9, the institution said an image being shared on social media claiming to contain KMTC admission details is fake and misleading.

According to the college, fraudsters are circulating the false document alongside unofficial WhatsApp contacts in an attempt to trick applicants into sending money in exchange for supposed admission letters.

KMTC emphasised that it does not process admissions through WhatsApp, Gmail, or any unofficial communication channels, urging applicants to rely only on official government platforms when submitting applications or making payments.

The institution clarified that all KMTC applications must be submitted through the portal managed by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).

KMTC further reminded applicants that the application window for the March 2026 intake will close on March 13, 2026.

Prospective students have been advised to log into the KUCCPS student portal to complete their applications. Those experiencing challenges during the process can visit any KMTC campus across the country for assistance from staff.

The college also reiterated that all payments related to KMTC must be made digitally through the government’s eCitizen platform using the Jiunge system.

Under the process, applicants must first create an account on the Jiunge platform via its website or mobile application. After registration, they are required to search for KMTC, enter their student registration number, select the relevant fee category and complete the payment through M-Pesa.

Once the transaction is confirmed using the M-Pesa PIN, applicants can download their official payment receipt directly from the portal.

KMTC stressed that cash payments are not accepted, warning that anyone requesting money outside the official digital system is likely a fraudster.

The warning comes days after KUCCPS reopened its placement portal for applications to diploma and certificate courses offered at KMTC for the March 2026 intake.

In a notice issued on March 3, KUCCPS said the exercise targets holders of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) who have not yet secured placement at KMTC, including candidates who applied earlier in January 2026 but were unsuccessful.

Interested applicants have been advised to visit the KUCCPS website, access the student portal, and follow the outlined steps to view available KMTC programmes and submit their applications before the March 13 deadline.
