KMPDU Mourns Veteran Gynecologist Dr. Job Obwaka

The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) has mourned the death of veteran Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist Dr. Job Masakhue Lukuru Obwaka, describing him as a distinguished medical professional who dedicated his life to patient care and mentorship.

In a condolence statement released on Friday, KMPDU said Dr. Obwaka served the medical profession in Kenya with distinction for many years and played a key role in advancing women’s health and medical training in the country.

Dr. Obwaka was also the Chairman of the Board of Directors at The Nairobi Hospital, where he is remembered for his leadership and commitment to strengthening healthcare services.

KMPDU noted that beyond his clinical work, the veteran medic held leadership positions in key health institutions and contributed significantly to the growth and development of healthcare in Kenya.

“He was widely respected for his professionalism, clinical experience, and commitment to patient care,” KMPDU stated.

The union further said Dr. Obwaka’s dedication to the medical profession remained consistent throughout his career, adding that his contribution to healthcare and mentorship left a lasting impact on the country’s medical fraternity.

KMPDU Secretary General Dr. Davji Bhimji Atellah extended condolences to the family, colleagues and friends of the late doctor during the difficult moment.

“We extend our sincere condolences to his family, his colleagues at The Nairobi Hospital, and the wider medical fraternity. We stand with them in this moment of loss,” the statement added.
