Kinyanjui Pledges Support For Kenya’s Exporters And Global Market Expansion

Kenya’s export sector is being cast as the frontline of the nation’s economy, sustaining foreign exchange inflows and contributing to the stability of the Kenyan shilling.

Speaking at an engagement with exporters and the Kenyan diaspora at Serena Hotel Nairobi, Investment, Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to supporting export-oriented businesses to expand, access new markets and compete globally.

He also praised the frontline soldiers of our economy for their critical role in sustaining foreign exchange inflows during the Gulf conflict.

Kenya’s vision is to expand its market access, compete globally and ensure Kenyan products are visible on retail shelves across the world while ensuring collaboration that will create pathways for entry.

He stated that his office is ready to support the diplomatic missions and trade attaches that will help open new markets and strengthen existing ones.

Kenyan diaspora is seen as a global distribution network for connecting products to consumers abroad. From fresh produce shipped to countries experiencing winter, to year-round demand in the Middle East, as the opportunities are immense.

CS Kinyanjui stressed the importance of leveraging trade agreements Kenya, reminding exporters that competition is no longer local but global.

He encouraged them to embrace digital marketing, tell the authentic story behind Kenyan products and the use of influence of globally recognized athletes and established Kenyan brands to capture consumer attention.

He assured the government is committed  to mobilise support for export-oriented enterprise and  creating job opportunities for people.
