King Charles III is unveiling a personal playlist filled with music that brings him joy and evokes cherished memories. The playlist, which is part of a special project called the King’s Music Room, features a variety of songs, including tracks from iconic artists like Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, and Grace Jones. The King has said these songs have a special place in his heart, lifting his spirits and reminding him of significant moments in his life.

The royal DJ was seen at Buckingham Palace in a photo for the project, complete with an “on air” sign, showcasing his personal connection to the music. A trailer for the project also reveals a unique performance of Bob Marley’s “Could You Be Loved,” played by the band for the changing of the guard outside the palace. This collaboration is a celebration of music from Commonwealth countries and highlights how music transcends borders.

In the project’s video, the King explains how music has always played a crucial role in his life. “Music has the remarkable ability to bring back happy memories, comfort us in sad times, and transport us to distant places,” he shared. He went on to say that music’s power to uplift the spirit is unmatched, especially when it brings people together to celebrate.

The full playlist, along with the King’s personal commentary, will be released on Monday in honor of Commonwealth Day. The playlist will feature a mix of reggae from Marley, dance tracks from Minogue, and contributions from Nigerian-American artist Davido and British singer Raye.
