The government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening public administration and improving service delivery at the grassroots following the graduation of 483 Assistant County Commissioners from the Kenya School of Government.
The officers, who form Cohort Three of the Diploma in Public Administration (DPA) programme, were officially inducted during the institution’s 7th Graduation and Induction Ceremony held at the Lower Kabete Campus.
The event was presided over by Geoffrey Ruku and attended by Raymond Omollo, alongside senior government officials.
Speaking during the ceremony, Dr. Omollo said the Diploma in Public Administration programme is designed to equip National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs) with the knowledge, leadership skills and administrative expertise required to effectively serve citizens at the grassroots.
He noted that the training enhances the capacity of Assistant County Commissioners to strengthen public administration, improve service delivery and promote responsive, accountable and citizen-centred governance across the country.
“The programme equips National Government Administrative Officers with the skills and expertise needed to provide effective leadership, strengthen public administration and enhance service delivery at the grassroots,” Dr. Omollo said.
The graduation comes as the government continues investing in the professional development of public officers to improve efficiency, accountability and the implementation of government programmes at the county and sub-county levels.
The ceremony also marked a historic milestone for the Kenya School of Government as it concluded its centenary celebrations, commemorating 100 years of excellence in public service training and leadership development.
