Kenya Railways has announced a refund process for passengers affected by the suspension of the 10:00 PM Madaraka Express train from Mombasa to Nairobi on July 6, 2025.
In a public notice issued Monday, the corporation confirmed that travelers who were unable to use the alternative train options provided on that date are eligible for refunds.
Passengers who had not printed their tickets will receive automatic refunds through the mobile numbers used during ticket purchase. Those who had already printed their tickets have been advised to present them at the nearest Kenya Railways station or termini for refund processing.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and thank our customers for their patience and understanding,” the statement read.The suspension, which affected one of the most popular night train services on the route, was not immediately explained by the operator.
