Kenya is taking part in a regional meeting on climate change and environmental protection, bringing together countries from the Sahara and Sahel region to discuss joint action.
Kenyan Environment and Climate Change Principal Secretary Festus Ng’eno will represent Kenya during the 33rd Session of the Executive Board of the Sahara and Sahel Observatory taking place in Cairo.
Issues to be deliberated during the conference include matters related to the environment within the region such as climate change, degradation of lands, and protection of the biodiversity.
While the members deliberate on the matters at hand, they will also review the performance and finances of the organization for the year 2025 and develop a plan of action for the next year, that is 2026.
The deliberations will go a long way in determining the approaches that will be taken by the various countries in addressing matters relating to the environment.
