Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale today flagged off 6.2 million vaccine doses 3 million for tuberculosis (BCG) and 3.2 million for polio (OPV) to counties, reinforcing Kenya’s national immunisation drive.

Speaking at Afya House in Nairobi, CS Duale urged county governments to swiftly collect and distribute the vaccines, especially to remote and underserved areas, through their County Health departments.

“This is a clear demonstration of our commitment to protect the health of our children,” said Duale, who also thanked partners like UNICEF for their swift procurement and delivery support.

Parents and caregivers are being encouraged to visit health centres and ensure children are vaccinated or catch up on missed doses.

Duale was joined by senior officials including PS Dr. Ouma Oluga, PS Mary Muthoni, Director General Dr. Patrick Amoth, CoG CEO Mary Mwiti, and representatives from UNICEF and WHO.
