Kenya and Brazil have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations following the 5th Kenya-Brazil Political Consultations held in Brasília.

The high-level talks were led by Kenya’s delegation and hosted by Brazil’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Amb. Mauro Vieira.

During the meeting, the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on tourism, marking a new phase of collaboration aimed at boosting people-to-people exchanges and unlocking economic opportunities in the hospitality sector.

The discussions also explored enhanced cooperation in agriculture, trade, investment, health, climate resilience, and regional security, with both sides emphasizing the importance of collaboration on global multilateral platforms.

“We reaffirmed our commitment to deepening bilateral ties and expanding areas of mutual interest,” said the Kenyan delegation leader.

A key highlight of the engagement was Kenya’s briefing on the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti, which it leads.

The Kenyan delegation appealed to the Brazilian government for technical and financial support to bolster efforts aimed at restoring peace and rebuilding livelihoods in the crisis-hit Caribbean nation.

“We believe Brazil’s backing would significantly enhance the mission’s success in bringing stability and hope to the people of Haiti,” the Kenyan official said.
