Kenya and Germany Kick-off Biennial Government-to-Government Negotiations

Kenya has commenced the Kenya-Germany Biennial Government-to-Government Negotiations on Development Cooperation, with the Principal Secretary for National Treasury Dr Chris Kiptoo leading the Kenyan delegation in Berlin, Germany.

The meeting recalls a long history of more than sixty years of relations between the two countries. Despite differences, Kenya and Germany have always respected each other and remained committed to economic transformation and sustainable development.

During three days of negotiations, Kenyan and German officials will deliberate on main areas of cooperation like renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, youth employment, skills development ICT trade and investment, technology exchange, and other areas of mutual interest.

As the talks started, Kenya’s Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, Amb. Stella Mokaya Orina, welcomed the Kenyan delegation.

The negotiations won’t only foster deeper collaboration between the two countries but also identify ways to leverage innovation, investment, and inclusive economic growth.
