Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo, has called on the ICT Authority to strengthen collaboration and deliver on key ICT infrastructure projects that support public service efficiency and national connectivity.
Speaking at a meeting at the Ministry Headquarters, CS Kabogo stressed the pivotal role of ICTA in enforcing ICT standards across government, developing robust digital systems, and implementing the Digital Superhighway under the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
He highlighted that expanding broadband access, strengthening shared digital infrastructure, and ensuring all citizens, businesses, and institutions can participate in the digital economy are central to the Authority’s mandate.
The CS emphasized that there is no room for error in executing these priority programmes, noting that delivery must be timely, efficient, and aligned with the highest technical standards.
As he welcomed the Authority’s new CEO, Jessy Maruti Kiveu, CS Kabogo urged swift orientation to sector priorities to maintain continuity, innovation, and results in the rapidly evolving ICT landscape.
The meeting was attended by ICTA Board Chairperson Lily Ng’ok, ICTA Directors Michael Omondi and Thomas Bwaley, and other senior officials.
