Media personality Janet Mbugua has announced her exit from Nation Media Group, stepping down from her role on the morning breakfast show Fixing the Nation at Nation FM after just over year on air.
Mbugua made the announcement during her final segment on Friday, April 17th, where she co-hosted the show alongside Eric Latiff and Mariam Bishar.
In her farewell remarks, Mbugua described her exit as an early departure, noting that she commits between three and seven years to media roles. The decision to leave was difficult yet necessary, driving her personal and professional priorities.
She said she will remain active on her social media platforms to continue to engaging with her audience.
Mbugua reiterated her commitment to the Inua Dada Foundation, which advances menstrual health management, protects girl child rights and fights period poverty.
She introduced her successor, Fellaris Wambui, who has three years of experience in the media industry and over decade in corporate communications and brand management.
“Receive her with the openness, curiosity and engagement that you have extended to me and my co-hosts,” Mbugua said to the audience, introducing Wambui.
“I’m stepping into very big shoes, but I have been telling myself that each of us has a part to play when it comes to fixing this nation, and I’m here to do exactly that,” Wambui said as she was took over the program.
Fixing the Nation, airs weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., focusing national issues affecting Kenyans, with an emphasis on solution- driven discussions, expert insights and citizen voices.
