Instagram has rolled out a new feature that will allow users to comment on posts and reels using photos directly from their gallery.
This will allow users to create a more visual and interactive conversation thread, replying with images instead of texts or emojis
This marks a significant shift in how engagement is measured. For years, Instagram has relied on likes, text comments, and emoji reactions. This will create a better storytelling and expressive interaction for the people.
Previously, it closed its “Notes” feature after backlash privacy concerns, before restoring it with stricter controls. It also had a purge, removing over 15 million inactive, bot and spam accounts to improve authentic engagement.
Instagram is among the backbones of social media platforms used by many users globally, with creators and influencers using it for engagement and offering brands to audience participation.
It fosters creativity while raising moderation challenges with advertisers, leverage photo comments for campaigns, and encouraging users to share brand images as replies.
