Harry Kane has been awarded the European Golden Shoe for the 2025/26 season after a record breaking season with Bayern Munich.
The England captain has scored 73 goals last season, including 12 at the international level for England. His dominance has reignited about whether he could finally claim the Ballon d’Or football’s most prestigious individual prize.
Kane broke records at the FIFA World Cup 2026 as the Three Lions achieved their best-ever finish at a men’s World Cup staged on foreign soil. He became the fifth spot on the all-time list of World Cup goal scorers.
Manchester City’s Erling Haaland finished second with 27 Premier League goals, earning 54 points, while Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe took third place with 25 La Liga goals for 50 points.
This marks Kane’s first Golden Shoe win, placing him alongside legends like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski.
The European Golden Shoe is usually awarded annually to the players with the most goals in domestic league matches across Europe’s top divisions. The Golden Shoe trophy is scheduled to be presented to Kane on August 19 at the Bayern Museum.
