The National Treasury has set the end of September 2026 as the deadline for completing the integration of the Electronic Government Procurement System (e-GP) with the Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS).
Detailed by the Treasury, the integration is expected to enhance public financial management and procurement oversight, connecting the entire cycle of public investment planning budgeting procurement, expenditure, and asset management via a coordinated digital platform.
The system is anticipated to give the government a clearer picture of where public funds flow right from budgeting and procurement to contract implementation, payment, and public assets establishment or management.
According to the Treasury, the system will improve the traceability of public resources from budget allocation and procurement to contract execution, payment and the creation or management of public assets.
The reform is a wider part of government broader initiatives to revamp public-sector systems and enhance the management of public finances, investments and assets.
The government said the reforms go beyond technological upgrade but a governance measure that will help realize the efficient conversion of public resources into public value.
