KANU National Chairman Gideon Moi has paid glowing tribute to Kenya’s second President, the late Daniel Toroitich arap Moi, describing him as a pillar of strength to his family and a towering statesman whose legacy continues to shape the nation.
In a statement, Gideon Moi said the family continues to honour and cherish the memories shared with the retired President, noting that his leadership and personal values remain a source of inspiration years after his death.
“We continue to honour and cherish the memories of the moments we shared with the late retired President, H.E. Mzee Daniel arap Moi, a pillar of strength to our family and a towering statesman. Together with the 4th President, H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta, we laid a wreath in his remembrance at his final resting place in Kabarak, Nakuru County,”Moi said.
To mark the occasion, Gideon Moi, together with former President Uhuru Kenyatta, laid a wreath at the late President Moi’s final resting place in Kabarak, Nakuru County.
The ceremony underscored the enduring friendship between the Moi and Kenyatta families and highlighted President Moi’s historical role in Kenya’s political journey, having led the country for 24 years.
President Moi passed away in February 2020 and was laid to rest at his Kabarak home. His legacy continues to draw reflection from political leaders and Kenyans across generations.
