Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said Kenyans are determined to use the next general election to “correct the wrongs” facing the country, vowing to confront corruption and political violence.
In a statement following an engagement with residents of Kiamwangi in Gatundu South Constituency, Gachagua said public sentiment across the country reflects growing dissatisfaction and a desire for change through democratic means.
“The message from the people of Kenya remains one: in the next year’s general elections, we will correct all the wrongs and ills our nation has been subjected to,” Gachagua said.
He accused unnamed actors of entrenching what he described as goonism and corruption, saying Kenyans were committed to reclaiming the country from such practices.
Gachagua thanked supporters for their continued backing, saying public goodwill has strengthened his resolve to remain vocal on national issues.
“Asanteni sana, wananchi wa Kiamwangi, Gatundu South Constituency, for your warm greetings,” he said.
