Another CCTV video showing police officers assaulting young men inside a pool hall has sparked anger online, with Kenyans questioning why cases of police brutality continued.
The footage, captured on the night of Friday, January 23, 2026, at about 11pm, captures uniformed police officers storming a pool entertainment joint in Kikuyu. The officers are believed to be attached to Nderi Police Post, according to people familiar with the area.
That video captures two young men who were playing pool before the officers walked in. The room is small, with green-painted walls and a pool table at the centre. Once the officers enter, the young men stop playing and seemingly follow instructions.
In the video, three officers fan out around the room as they ask the occupants questions. The young men stand against the wall and doorway, unquestionably calm, docile.
The situation turns violent within instants.
One officer is seen to strike one of the youths in the stomach with a baton, while the other slaps him several times. In a further scene, the second young man is slapped a number of times before both are handcuffed.
As the clip ends, the officers gather the pool table balls and shepherd the two youths out of the joint. A police Land Cruiser is parked outside.
This incident has come days after another distressing CCTV video from Nandi Hills went viral, in which police officers are shown storming into a pool hall and beating up young men.
The footage of January 10, 2026, depicted the event when more than 10 men were forced onto the floor by armed officers, who were demanding identification documents. According to reports, it was after one man tried to leave the premises that things escalated into chaos.
The incident has however attracted sharp criticism from leaders who include Nandi Hills Senator Samson Cherargei and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, who want the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja to act on officers involved in abuse.
By the time of publication, the National Police Service had not commented on either incident in Kikuyu or Nandi Hills.
