Former ‘Nation’ Editor Takes Up Top Corporate Role at KCB

Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) has promoted former Daily Nation editor and seasoned communications practitioner Peter Mwaura to head its Corporate & Stakeholder Relations desk.

Mwaura previously worked as the KCB Communications Manager for a decade.

He joined Nation Media Group as a cub journalist in 2007. He was among the pioneer writers of the company’s Business Daily newspaper.

In 2011 he was promoted to be the News Editor at the East Africa, also the company’s regional newspaper before joining the bank.

The University of Nairobi graduate was promoted as part of the latest leadership changes at KCB Group made last month.

Mark Mwongela Ngungi was appointed as the Group Director Strategy and Innovation and Judith Sidi Odhiambo as the Head of Sustainability.

Odhiambo served as the Head of Corporate & Regulatory Affairs for over a decade.

In his new role, Mwaura is charged with driving KCB Group’s Communications Strategy to deliver business growth.
