The FKF Youth Leagues Nairobi season came to a thrilling close at the Austine Odhiambo Sports Complex in Baba Dogo, where champions were crowned in six categories following an action-packed finals day.
Top youth development teams from across the capital battled for honours in the Under 13, Under 15 and Under 17 age groups for both boys and girls.
The finals provided a fitting climax to the season, delivering high-intensity encounters, moments of brilliance and titles decided through both open play and dramatic penalty shootouts.
In the Under 13 boys’ final, Icon Academy (Kasarani) put on a commanding performance to defeat Heroes (Kariobangi) 3-0 and lift the title in emphatic style.
The Under 13 girls’ crown went to St. Anne’s (Makadara), who edged Acafoa (Kariobangi) 1-0 in a tightly contested affair.
Michezo Halisi (Makadara) were crowned Under 15 girls’ champions after grinding out a narrow 1-0 victory over Babadogo Tiah (Ruaraka) in a competitive final.
The Under 15 boys’ showdown proved to be one of the most dramatic matches of the day, as Vision Stars (Mukuru) and Rodney Strikers (Ruaraka) played to a goalless draw in regulation time. Rodney Strikers held their nerve in the penalty shootout, edging Vision Stars 6-5 to claim the trophy.
Drama continued in the Under 17 girls’ final, where Mukuru Sports (Mukuru) and Kariobangi Sharks (Kariobangi) were deadlocked at full time.
Mukuru Sports prevailed 5-4 on penalties to secure the championship.
The day concluded with a dominant display in the Under 17 boys’ final, as Rodney Strikers (Ruaraka) recorded a convincing 3-0 victory over Tikitaka (Kayole).
The win sealed a memorable double for Rodney Strikers, who had earlier lifted the Under 15 boys’ title.
Overall, the FKF Youth Leagues Nairobi Finals showcased the growing depth, competitiveness and quality of youth football in the capital, with several matches decided by the finest of margins.
