Embu Governor Cecile Mbarire has cautioned opposition leaders against inciting the public with what she termed as “politics of succession filled with hatred.”
Speaking on Saturday at Kangaru Boys High School in Embu, Mbarire said President William Ruto and his administration deserve time to deliver on campaign pledges instead of being distracted by premature 2027 succession debates.
“The 2027 elections are still far. We will not entertain people claiming that Ruto will serve only one term. They are busybodies. Ruto has done a lot for this country, especially here in Embu,” she said, calling on locals to reject divisive politics and highlight ongoing development projects.
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) National Chairman Ndiritu Muriithi backed her sentiments, stressing the importance of unity and focus on economic growth. “We need politics of respect, peace, and the rule of law. People may differ politically, but that should never disturb the peace that drives economic growth,” he noted.
Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura also rallied residents to support the Kenya Kwanza administration, assuring them of ongoing job creation efforts. “We are fully behind Ruto and his government. We will support him in 2027 and we will not be intimidated,” he said.
Biovax Director Wangoro Mwangi warned the opposition against what he described as “hatred politics,” stressing that the administration is prioritizing economic empowerment and youth opportunities. “This is the time for service delivery, not hatred. Let’s give the government time to deliver,” he said.
Health Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening the health sector in collaboration with counties, citing the ongoing rollout of community health promoters nationwide.
The forum was also attended by top government officials including John Muchiri (IPOA), David Kariuki (NSSF), Emilio Mugo (NEMA), and Winnie Ngumi (KENHA).
