The Democratic National Alliance (DNA) has officially unveiled Hon. Joab Manyasi as its candidate for the upcoming Malava Constituency by-election, during a ceremony held on Friday, 1st August 2025, at the party’s headquarters in Karen, Nairobi.
Manyasi previously contested the Malava parliamentary seat in 2017 under Ford Kenya and again in 2022 under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
With a professional career spanning both Kenya and Uganda, he brings experience, grassroots insight, and a people-first agenda to his candidacy.
His unveiling marks DNA’s strategic expansion in Western Kenya and reflects the party’s commitment to nurturing homegrown, accountable leadership.“We are offering not just a candidate, but a movement,” said Hon. Godfrey Kanoti, Party Leader of DNA.
“Manyasi embodies the values of our party. We believe the people of Malava are ready for a new chapter of leadership that puts their aspirations at the heart of governance.”
In his acceptance speech, Manyasi pledged to be a voice for the ordinary citizen, emphasizing the importance of inclusive representation and servant leadership.
“I come from the soil of Malava. I have walked the same roads, stood in the same queues, and experienced the frustration of unfulfilled promises.” he said
The people of Malava need a leader who will listen, especially to our farmers, our women, and our youth. I am ready to work for the people of Malava, and I will work hand in hand with the DNA Party to ensure that their voices are not just heard, but acted upon.
This campaign is not just about votes, it’s about voice, dignity, and real development.”The by-election in Malava follows a vacancy declared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and is expected to be scheduled later this year.
DNA has committed to running an issuebased campaign grounded in grassroots dialogue, civic education, and constituency-wide engagement.
