A section of officials of the newly formed Democracy for Citizens Party(DCP) have blasted Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and other Kenya Kwanza leaders for falsely branding their political party as tribal, saying leaders must exercise tolerance.
They said President William Ruto pushed him out of the ruling political party and as such, should not meddle in the affairs of the new home for former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking in Mau Narok, DCP Deputy Secretary General Martin Ole Kamwaro that the current leadership have been frustrating their party leader and haunting him out of office to administer mob justice on him for standing firm on the ideals he believes him.
“We must have political tolerance in this country. You are frustrating him even when he was in the hospital. You push him out of office. You don't have humanity, you call him tribal leader, that he has formed a tribal party, yet I am a Maasai, party chairman is from Kajiado and several others from other regions,” he said.He said the attack on them during their unveiling of the party was callous and uncalled for saying political leaders must be decent to respect other people’s political expressions.
Kamwaro said that they will not relent in popularizing their party and ensuring that Kenyans buy their idea of redeeming the country from leaders they allege have vanquished the treasure of the country
He said that they will sustain pressure to keep their conversation with the Kenyan people to chart the way forward in the coming elections and ensure that the current crop of leaders are kicked out of office.
Secretary General of MCAs Caucus in Kenya Stanley Karanja who is also the MCA for Naivasha East said that top government leaders led by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki have been leading an onslaught to discredit the unveiling of the new party to depict as a tribal party.
“Cleophas Malala is not from the ethnic community of Gachagua, same as secretary General. It’s very barbaric to wage a war along tribal line on people who are exercising constitutional democracy under article 38”, he said.He said that government leaders and sympathizers have been dispatched across all corners of the country to discredit their party and try to wage a political war that is so sensitive to the cohesion of the country.
“They have mistreated our leader big time, now they are crisscrossing the country trying to box him to the corner, DP Kindiki said he is assisting the president, he seems to have been dispatched to carry out the assignment of battling Gachagua politically,” he said.Rigathi Gachagua unveiled the new party on Thursday promising to give the current administration a run for their money.
