Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina is set to hear final submissions in a high-profile robbery with violence case involving suspects linked to the brutal killing of former Kabete MP George Muchai.

Seven individuals — Erick Muyera Isabwa, Raphael Kimani, Mustapha Kimani, Stephen Astiva, Jane Wanjiru, Margaret Njeri, and Simon Wambugu — are facing charges of robbery with violence at the Chief Magistrate’s Court, while concurrently battling murder charges at the High Court.

The prosecution alleges that the robberies occurred just hours before the fatal shooting of Muchai, his driver, and two bodyguards along Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi on the morning of February 7, 2015.

Isabwa, believed to be the main suspect in both cases, has denied the robbery charges. The accused are now expected to make their final arguments before Magistrate Onyina retires to prepare his judgment.

The upcoming ruling is expected to shed light on one of the most shocking political assassinations in recent Kenyan history, a case that has dragged on for over a decade.
