Kenyan comedian Mammito Eunice has found herself at the center of storm after releasing a viral parody skit mimicking controversial preacher Prophet David Owuor.
The video, which surfaced online on April21, has sparked heated reactions, with some of Owuor’s followers issuing a 24-hour ultimatum demanding its removal.
In the skit, shows Mammito is shown wearing a white robes and long beard, perfectly imitating the Prophet Owuor’s trademark look. She had a crowd of audiences and fans laughing out loud and praising her boldness and creativity.
People who follow Owuor’s faith were upset about the parody, thought Mammito was making fun of the man of God warning her to be careful with the things she does.
They demanded her to delete the viral video, that’s all over the internet saying she will face consequences if she fails to comply and urging her to repent.
Prophet David Owuor, the leader of Repentance and Holiness Ministry is known for his big gatherings and prophesying for people or things will happen.
The video has stirred a national conversation about the role of Owuor and people defending Mammito’s right to to make jokes. Others argued comedy thrives on parody and exaggeration. “She is simply doing what comedians do best,” a fan said.
