The Union of Kenya Civil Servants has threatened to sue the Social Health Authority over what it describes as a blatant breach of their agreed healthcare cover for public officers.
The union accuses the authority of changing outpatient benefits on its own, limiting coverage to only KSh 2,500 per visit.
The union states that this decision will make civil servants suffer financially forcing them to pay more out of their pockets to get healthcare services.
Besides, the union has also challenged Felix Koskei to give a directive within 14 days calling for the withdrawal of police check units on roads.
The union argues that the units have turned into places of harassment and exploitation of motorists by traffic officers.
In addition, the union has urged MPs in the National Assembly to expedite the passage of the Public Service Commission Amendment Bill, 2026. The bill intends to improve the welfare and working conditions of civil servants across the country.
