Several political parties, including Chama Cha Mashinani, the Kenya Union Party (KUP),Democratic Party and the Kenya African National Union (KANU), on Monday joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) during their UDA National Governing Council.
The announcement was made during the UDA National Governing Council (NGC) meeting held at State House, Nairobi, which was attended by President William Ruto, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, and senior party leaders.
“I can see Isaac Ruto, Senator Mundigi from Dp, Kanu and Kanu among others are here with us ,”He said.
The parties’ decision to fold into UDA is seen as a major boost for the ruling party’s national presence and grassroots support ahead of the 2027 General Election.
