Uraia Trust is mourning the death of its Head of Finance and Support Services, Gladys Maina.
The civic education organisation announced that Maina died while receiving treatment abroad.
“Gladys passed away while receiving treatment abroad, after a battle we had all hoped…” the organisation said in a statement shared on social media.
Maina was a senior member of the Uraia Trust team and played a key role in overseeing the organisation’s financial and support functions.
Uraia Trust lists her as its Head of Finance and Support Services, a position she held while supporting the organisation’s work in civic education, citizen participation and democratic governance.
Her professional profile describes her as a finance professional with experience in financial management and organisational support.
Maina also represented Uraia Trust at various public engagements and civic initiatives.
Her death has drawn messages of condolence from colleagues, friends and members of Kenya’s civil society community.
Uraia Trust has not announced details of her funeral arrangements.
