Atheists in Kenya Society has endorsed the alleged plan to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
In a statement on Monday, September 23, the society accused Gachagua of strategically using tribalism to promote his political agenda.
"The deputy president has become adept at leveraging tribal allegiance for personal benefit, narrow interests, patronage, and cronyism. We all remember how Kenya's 2007-08 post-election violence revealed the extent to which tribal forces could quickly bring a country to the brink of civil war," read the statement by the atheist's president, Harrison Mumia.Mumia voiced that the way forward for Kenya lies in concerted efforts to build modern political parties founded on development ideas and not tribal bonds.
