Police in Nairobi are investigating the suspected murder of a 21-year-old woman who was allegedly suffocated with a pillow by her boyfriend following a domestic dispute.
Feruz Hussein was reportedly killed by Nelson Ambia, who is also accused of recording the incident and sending the video to her family.
The matter was reported at Sunton Police Station in Kasarani Sub-County on September 30 under Occurrence Book number 37.
Documents seen by Tukio indicate that the death was reported as a suspected murder. Her body was recovered from a house in the Githurai-Sunton area.
The case was awaiting a postmortem examination and burial arrangements, according to documents cited in the report.
Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko said the suspect had also allegedly threatened Hussein’s younger siblings, Shadia, 19, and Malik, 15.
Sonko has offered a KSh50,000 reward to anyone who provides credible information leading to Ambia’s arrest.
In a social media post, the former governor claimed the suspect had recently been spotted in Kakamega County and urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.
“I am offering KSh 50,000 to anyone whose credible information leads to his arrest,” Sonko stated.
He cautioned members of the public against confronting the suspect, urging them instead to share any information with the police.
Police investigations into the alleged murder are ongoing. The allegations against Ambia have not been established in court.
