President William Ruto on Friday presided over the passing-out parade of newly trained police recruits at the National Police College in Kiganjo, Nyeri County.
The ceremony brought together senior government officials, National Police Service commanders and families who gathered to witness the graduation of the recruits after months of training.
Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin was also at Kiganjo for the ceremony, alongside senior officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
The recruits have completed their training and are now set to join the National Police Service as trained officers.
Their training covered discipline and other skills required in police work as they prepare to take up duties across the country.
For their families, the event marked the end of a demanding training period and the start of their relatives’ careers in the police service.
The new officers are expected to take up their responsibilities of maintaining law and order, protecting lives and property and enforcing the law.
Amin was accompanied by several senior DCI officers, including Director Personnel Rosemary Kuraru, Director of Planning Bernard Walumoli, Commandant of the National Criminal Investigations Academy Ibrahim Jillo and Director of the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit Saidi Mohamed.
Others were Director Logistics Janet Shako, OC CMA Adan Guyo, Director Legal and Compliance Counsel J.K. Marete and Director Training Violet Makhanu.
The passing-out ceremony comes as the National Police Service prepares to deploy the new officers to different parts of the country.
The recruits will now leave Kiganjo and begin their duties, marking the transition from training to frontline police work.
