Kwale: Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives have arrested four suspects linked to the murder of British national Campbell Scott and a series of robbery with violence cases in coastal Kenya. The arrests were made on Saturday, April 11, during an intelligence-led operation conducted in Ukunda.
The arrested suspects are Bernard Mbusu, Isaac Kinoti Kobia, Evans Muthengi Mutaki and Kelvin Mwangi Njoroge.
According to investigators, the coordinated operation involved officers from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau working alongside other security units. The suspects were traced to Ideal Apartments in Ukunda, where they were apprehended. Authorities said the arrests mark a major development in ongoing investigations into violent crimes reported in Nyali, Watamu and surrounding areas.
During the operation, detectives recovered several items believed to have been stolen, including laptops, mobile phones, foreign currency, credit cards, cheque books and payment devices. The suspects are also being linked to a robbery incident involving an American national in Nyali, as well as the earlier abduction and killing of Campbell Scott, whose body was found along the Machakos–Wote road in February 2025. Police said the suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
