Police have announced a temporary traffic disruption in Nairobi on Sunday, October 26, to ensure public safety and the smooth management of the 2025 Standard Chartered Marathon.

The temporary road closures and traffic diversions will be in effect from midnight on Saturday, October 25, until 2 pm on Sunday, October 26.

In a notice, the police announced the temporary closure of Nairobi Southern Bypass from the Ole Sereni Interchange to Kikuyu Town.

Also, drivers from Mombasa Road heading towards Kikuyu will be diverted via Uhuru Highway and Waiyaki Way.

Motorists travelling from Dagoretti South to Kikuyu are advised to use Dagoretti Road.

Those heading to Lang’ata and Dagoretti South have been advised to use Lang’ata Road through Karen.


"All motorists are urged to be patient, strictly adhere to traffic rules and regulations, and follow the guidance of officers stationed along the affected routes. Stern action will be taken against anyone found violating traffic rules," police warned.
