Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Rugby Football Club have claimed their fifth SportPesa National Rugby 7s Circuit championship after a dominant run at the Dala 7s, held on Sunday at Mamboleo Stadium in Kisumu.
KCB secured the title after edging past Strathmore Leos 15-14 in the quarterfinals, overpowering Daystar Falcons 19-5 in the semifinals, and capping their campaign with a commanding 25-5 victory over Kabras in the final.
Coming into the Dala 7s with 104 points, KCB only needed to reach the quarterfinals to secure the overall title with a guaranteed 119 points. That milestone was reached when National 7s captain George ‘Japolo’ Ooro scored twice against his former team, Strathmore Leos. Reflecting on the moment, Ooro jokingly described it as an “unregrettable crime — but just sports.”
Before this year, KCB were tied at four circuit titles with Impala, Mwamba, and Kenya Harlequin, having won in 2013, 2014, 2019, and 2023. Their 2025 triumph under the guidance of coaches Dennis Mwanja and Andrew Amonde now makes them the undisputed kings of the National 7s Circuit, finishing the season with 126 points.
Other Dala 7s Results:
- Third Place Playoff: Menengai Oilers crushed Daystar Falcons 33-0.
- Fifth Place Final: Nakuru edged Mwamba 17-10.

- 13th Place Final: MMUST thrashed hosts Kisumu 31-0.
- Division Two Final: Zetech Oaks defeated Makueni RFC 24-12 to close out the tournament.
The 2025 SportPesa National 7s Rugby Circuit comes to a thrilling end, with KCB RFC once again asserting their dominance in Kenyan rugby sevens.
