Kenya’s national netball team, the Divas, pulled off a thrilling 58-50 victory over hosts United Arab Emirates yesterday in the ongoing Netball Cup in Dubai.
The Divas set the tone early, narrowly taking the first quarter 13-12 before extending their lead to 30-23 by halftime.
Coach Ali Mugisha’s side maintained their intensity into the third quarter, pulling ahead 46-37.
Kenya held firm in the final stretch to seal their second consecutive win, keeping their bronze medal hopes alive ahead of the tournament’s final day.
The Divas now face a decisive clash against Ireland today, with both teams tied at 12 points. The winner will secure the bronze medal.
Namibia, leading the table with 18 points, are set to face the USA, while co-leaders Singapore will take on the UAE in today’s final round of group matches.
The six-nation tournament, which began on June 19, features Kenya, USA, Namibia, Singapore, Ireland, and hosts UAE.
